Health Information

Sugar Free

Our Sugar Free Confections are perfect for those seeking a healthier lifestyle. With so much sugar in our diets these days, its great to be able to reduce the intake but still make the most of that sweet tooth we all developed from a young age!

We are proud to have no artificial colours and flavours in our products. They are dental friendly and have a low Glycemic response.

Isomalt

Isomalt is a sugar alternative for health conscious people. It is the only sugar replacer derived from natural sugar plants.

Isomalt offers benefits that suit changing life-styles and contemporary guidelines for healthy diets. It enlarges food choices for the growing number of people who would like to make improvements in their diet. It is ideal for consumers who want to adopt a healthier lifestyle, by perhaps adopting a sugar free diet and with Double "D", you don't have to compromise on flavor!

Dental Friendly

Isomalt does not promote dental caries, because oral bacteria cannot readily convert it into decay causing acids. Therefore, the acidic conditions that lead to tooth demineralization do not develop after consuming isomalt, as occurs after eating sugar and other fermentable carbohydrates. Furthermore, isomalt cannot be converted by oral bacteria into polyglucan, the substance from which dental plaque is synthesized.

Isomalt can help repair early dental caries lesions. Its sweet taste stimulates the production of saliva, thus reducing acidity and increasing calcium levels on the tooth surface. These changes facilitate remineralization of areas previously damaged by acidic conditions in the mouth due to fermentable carbohydrate consumption.

Diabetes, Weightloss and Healthy Living:

Isomalt hardly influences blood glucose or insulin therefore has a very low glycemic response. Perfect for consumers that are interested in a healthy lifestyle - management and prevention of obesity, diabetes, being on a 'low carb diet' and more. There is a growing body of evidence that shows that a low glycemic diet can help in the management and prevention of obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

Nutrition / WEIGHT

10 Ways To Keep The Weight Off

1. Increase your protein intake - breaking down protein uses more energy therefore burning more calories even when your doing nothing!

2. Eat lots of high fibre foods - they fill you up for longer.

3. Eat lots of low glycemic index (GI) foods - lower insulin in your blood is better for fat loss.

4. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables.

5. Don't go hungry! Eat something healthy.

6. Eat Breakfast

7. Eat slowly and stop eating as soon as you start feeling full. Usually 70%. It takes awhile for all your food to go down!

8. Watch what you drink - many fruit juices for example, are packed with a lot of sugar which can just turn to fat if its not burnt.

9. Let your self have 'sometimes foods' (and drinks!). You need to be realistic and you have to enjoy life in a balanced way.

10. Did i mention Double "D!" - Sugar Free, Low GI, No Artificial Colours and Flavours, Fat Free. (Rule 9 doesn't have to be tainted with guilt!!)
